Tom Palermo Named NAPA/ASE Technician of the Year

NAPA AUTO PARTS and the National Institute for
Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) have named Tom Palermo, B.S.M.E.T, M.A.S.E., L1,
General Manager of Preferred Automotive Specialists in Jenkintown, Pa. as the 2015
NAPA/ASE Technician of the Year, which is presented annually to an outstanding
technician within the NAPA system. Palermo received the award at NAPA AUTO PARTS’
annual Fall Leadership Meeting in Atlanta on October 23.

Palermo holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Penn State
University and is a Master Technician and a Certified ASE Advanced Level Technician. He
is also a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers

Palermo has been recognized as Top Technician by NAPA Quaker City in 2014.
He also assists NAPA AutoCare Centers in the area by speaking at group events and
conferences.
“We all know that Tom has the NAPA Know How, but what sets him apart are his
customer service skills. He never says ‘no,’ he doesn’t say‘I can’t’—none of those words
are in his vocabulary,” said fleet manager customer Carl Bittenbender. “When you
combine his technical skills with his customer service skills, it’s obvious Tom’s a winner.”

“Getting to know Tom has been a positive experience. He promotes NAPA and
the NAPA AutoCare program and not only that, he’s a good guy,” said John Hanlon, Area
Manager, Quaker City Motor Parts. “He represents everything that’s good about our
industry.”
“I’d like to thank NAPA and ASE for honoring me as the 2015 Technician of the
Year,” said Palermo. “At Preferred Automotive we’re not just in the repair business,we’re also in the relationship business. NAPA shares that philosophy and allows me to
provide the best products to my customers, which makes this award that much more
important.”
