What is ASA?

The Automotive Service Association

We are part of the largest not-for-profit, self-governing, trade association of its kind. The ASA is dedicated to providing independent automotive repair and collision professionals with the resources they need to better their business. ASA serves an international membership base that includes numerous affiliate, state and chapter groups from all segments of the automotive service industry.

Upholding the Standards
ASA has set standards, known as the Code of Ethics, that all members are expected to uphold. This code is an outline of responsible automotive consumer service practices. The automobile owner may be assured that businesses belonging to ASA are part of an association that advances professionalism and excellence in the automotive repair industry through education, representation and member services.

Levels of Membership
There are varying levels of membership in ASA:

  • Regular members – Establishments that perform automotive repair services
  • Associate members – Suppliers of goods, services or equipment to the industry
  • Other membership types include – Corporate, Educational, Honorary and Senior Active

Representation
ASA works to protect your rights with a full-time representative in Washington, D.C.

Annual Events
ASA hosts several events each year:

  • The Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS) for mechanical/transmission professionals
  • The International Autobody Congress and Exposition (NACE) for collision professionals
